Training Materials for Sustainable Compliance

The Fair Labor Association (FLA) is a non-profit organization combining the efforts of industry, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), colleges and universities to promote adherence to international labor standards and improve working conditions worldwide. LiD collaborated with the FLA in the early days of its operation, and has now returned to collaborate with the exciting Sustainable Compliance initiative. In short, the initiative aims to move away from types of monitoring and remediation efforts that are characteristically short termed, both in observation of the workplace and remedial effect. The focus of Sustainable Compliance is to build the capacity of management to manage better, with results that are observable in the workplace, and for the typical worker. The strategic training of local management and supervision is a key element of the remedial process and LiD collaborates with the FLA in designing and delivering materials and programmes.
