Assessment of Labour Rights in Ukraine under the EU's GSP

Prepare technical assessment of the incorporation in domestic legislation of the substance of standards laid down in the ILO Fundamental Conventions, and measures taken to effectively apply and monitor them in Ukraine, as prelude for Commission decision on the request of the Ukraine for special tariff reductions under the European Unions’ Generalized System of Preferences related to labour rights.

The Ukraine had requested the European Commission to grant benefits under the special incentive scheme concerning labour rights, which means that in order for the Ukraine to be granted certain benefits in exporting to the European Union the substance of the ILO Conventions Nos. 87, 98, 29, 105, 100, 111, 138 and 182 should be incorporated into Ukrainian labour legislation.

D. Tajgman of LiD was assigned to prepare a technical assessment of the incorporation in domestic legislation of the substance of standards laid down in the ILO Conventions and measures taken to effectively apply and monitor them in the Ukraine. The project was prepared for the Directorate-General for Trade, European Commission, Brussels, Belgium
